LabS55 is home to a wide variety of very different companies and startups, and while a consistent styling connects these disparate elements, the variety is remarkable.
Upon entering LabS55 you are greeted by a neat, industrial, orange and grey lobby, full of interestingly angled architectural details. The building, which used to be a technical school consisting of two separate buildings, is now joined together by a series of walkways. The architecture firm responsible for the reconfiguration of the building afterwards chose to settle at LabS55 as well, actually!
Walking around, it’s the size and modernity of the building that impresses. Quirky furniture litters the halls, courtesy of a number of interior design firms that call LabS55 their home. Despite the clean nature of the architecture, any type of company or individual can settle at LabS55, something that’s reflected in the wide variety of different tenants. Examples include a 3D animation studio, a company making modular synthesisers and even one designing prop planes used for sustainable wind energy.
One part of the building, with larger studios, generally contains the more creative industry type businesses, while the other side of LabS55 is more IT-focused.
